As environmental pollutants and threats to ecosystems continue to escalate, the world faces an increasingly alarming reality. Air pollution, rising levels of chemical gases, deforestation, the spread of dangerous diseases, and conflicts over land, soil, and food resources are intensifying. Some experts even predict future wars over the very air we breathe. The Earth, once a sustainable home, is no longer capable of supporting the growing needs of humanity, signaling the urgent need to look beyond our planet for survival.
In response to this crisis, visionary space investment companies have launched exploration teams to Planet 442, seeking to cultivate vegetables in its soil. These companies are locked in a fierce competition to establish sustainable farming practices, with astronauts carrying out critical missions assigned by their organizations. The race for survival in space has begun, and only the most innovative and strategic efforts will ensure the future of humanity.
In Farmoony, players take on the roles of engineers working for rival space companies, each tasked with building the most sustainable and efficient farms on Planet 442. The game is designed for 2 to 6 players and unfolds over multiple rounds, offering strategic opportunities to earn points while disrupting the progress of competitors. The ultimate goal is to score the highest points by completing missions and expertly managing resources.
At the start of the game, each player receives a set of Farm Cards and Tool Cards, while Mission Cards are shared among all players. Three Mission Cards are revealed at the beginning and remain the same throughout the game. In each round, players select a Farm Card to place on their farm grid in an effort to fulfill mission objectives. Tool Cards provide opportunities to enhance a player’s farm or sabotage opponents by affecting their progress. Missions require players to create specific patterns or combinations on their grids, such as aligning elements of water, soil, or energy to meet the mission’s requirements.
Players take turns performing actions like placing cards, using tools, or completing mission objectives. The game continues for three rounds, during which players earn points by fulfilling mission criteria and optimizing their farm layouts. At the end of the game, the player with the most points wins. In the event of a tie, the winner is determined by the number of unused tokens or additional objectives completed.
Farmoony combines resource management, strategic placement, and competitive interaction to deliver a dynamic and engaging board game experience. As players race to build sustainable farms on a distant planet, only the most forward-thinking space-farmer will secure the future of humanity on Planet 442.
