In 1958, Demitri Belyaev and Lyudmila Trut began an experiment to domesticate foxes by selecting the friendliest ones. Over generations, these foxes developed traits like spots, floppy ears, and curly tails, helping us understand domestication better. The experiment continues today.
In The Fox Experiment, you breed domesticated foxes. Each round, you select fox parents with specific traits, roll trait dice, and mark off traits on your pup card. You earn trait tokens to upgrade your player board. After each round, new pups become the next generation’s parents. The game lasts 5 rounds, and you score points for pleasing patrons, completing studies, winning the friendliest fox award, upgrading your board, and collecting extra tokens. The player with the most points wins!
