In Solar Titans, you take command of a capital ship in the Orion Centauri system, preparing for intense battles against rival vessels. You upgrade your ship, manage your crew, and engage in strategic combat while adapting to shifting situations to emerge victorious.
The game blends deck-building and tableau-building mechanics to create fast-paced, tactical gameplay. You construct your capital ship by connecting ship cards representing key components—command deck, core systems, plating, and weapons. The layout you choose determines your ship’s strengths and weaknesses. As the game progresses, you use crew cards to operate your ship and acquire new components or crew from a dynamic market. Once prepared, you unleash your weapons to target your opponent’s ship, aiming to destroy their command deck for victory.
Each turn involves critical decisions. In combat, you determine the sequence of weapons and target specific parts of the enemy ship. Weapons vary in attack strength, direction, and special effects, so strategically disabling key modules can shift the tide of battle. In the market, you decide whether to enhance your economy, offense, defense, or utility. The market offers a variety of powerful weapons, advanced plating, and specialized crew, all essential for success. You also have the option to modify or repair your ship each turn, though repair supplies are limited, requiring careful management.
Solar Titans is designed to be easy to learn while providing a tense and engaging experience. As both players’ ships accumulate damage over time, strategies and priorities must constantly evolve. The randomized market and the introduction of new ship components ensure that combat dynamics remain unpredictable. The game challenges players to balance short-term gains with long-term strategy, knowing that each ship is only a few turns away from being disabled. Reinforcing the command deck or crew quarters, deciding when to fire weapons or prepare for a large volley, and choosing which enemy modules to target all play a role in achieving victory. The endless variations in ship layouts, the ever-changing market, and shifting combat conditions offer a deep, replayable experience that fosters mastery over time.
Solar Titans supports 1 to 4 players and features 6 distinct game modes: the classic 1v1 capital ship duel, free-for-all (3-4 players), hunter-killer showdown (2v2), titan ship duel (2v2), titan ambush (1v2), and a solo or 2-player co-op mode against a powerful automata ship with 3 boss variants and randomized AI bonuses.
